Working together with trusted installers
Our recent collaboration with Skyfield Construction in Gravesend highlights how a strong partnership between supplier and installer can deliver results. This project called for 161 Hardie® VL Plank boards in the popular Sail Cloth colour - a modern, neutral tone that pairs the durability and reliability of fibre cement cladding with a sleek, contemporary look. Supplied directly from our extensive stock, the boards were delivered quickly and efficiently to site, with timing and condition both meeting the high expectations we’ve built with our trade customers.
Louis Parker, Director at Skyfield Construction, may be relatively green with Southern Sheeting - first getting in touch July 2024 - but has quickly come to rely on us as his go-to for fibre cement cladding solutions with over a dozen collaborations since. “For our recent cladding project in Gravesend, I reached out to our trusted supplier, Southern Sheeting, for a quote on Hardie® VL Plank cladding,” Louis explained. “As always, they instantly provided an accurate and fair quote before promptly referring me on to their transport team.”
From initial enquiry on to delivering our stocked boards, getting the goods to Gravesend for Skyfield was as easy as… “I was easily able to book a convenient delivery slot after being contacted in good time. The product was subsequently delivered on time, and in perfect condition.”
How Skyfield Construction pulled it all together
From there, Louis and his team proved why they’re an approved installer of James Hardie products. The building is clad in similar fibre cement sidings, with Cedral Lap Fibre Cement Cladding applied in an equally modern, C73 Ocean Blue woodgrain finish. From there, two layers of yellow horizontal lap board were added to detail and contrast the primary colouration of the building - creating a striking profile for the entire structure.
To add to the variety of finishes on this building, yellow planks were used vertically on the ground floor with a ‘hit-and-miss’ style cladding which creates a visual akin to individual planks and battens with added depth and style.
And, to tie everything together with attention to detail, the soffit was entirely detailed by the Hardie® VL Plank purchased and installed by Skyfield Construction via Southern Sheeting; bringing together an entire project. The entire Gravesend building is evidence of not only how clean and timeless that fibre cement cladding appears, but also demonstrates the flexibility and versatility that can be achieved when you rely on high quality products like Cedral and HardiePlank®.
