Roofing Sheets and Specification

We recommend a minimum roof pitch of 5°.

Helpful?

Yes. Metal roofing and cladding sheets can be ordered cut to length.

Helpful?

Yes. Olive green corrugated steel sheets are available as a made-to-order option.

Helpful?

Box profile has sharper, squared-off ribs and generally gives better strength over longer spans. Corrugated has a smoother wave profile and a more traditional look. Both are available in a range colours.

Helpful?

0.5mm suits most domestic roofs. 0.7mm is worth considering for larger spans, exposed sites, or where extra durability matters. The sales team can advise based on your specific needs.

Helpful?

Cover width varies by profile, since each has a different side lap. Check the individual product page for the exact cover width, or get in touch to ask us to confirm it for your chosen profile.

Helpful?

Some profiles can be supplied longer than 6.4m --- availability depends on the specific sheet and delivery route. Ask the sales team to confirm for the profile you need.

Helpful?

Box profile and fibre cement Profile 6 sheets are both common like-for-like replacements for asbestos roofing. The right choice depends on your existing purlin spacing. The sales team can help match it.

Helpful?

Send us a photo or the product code of your existing installation and our sales team will compare technical specifications to confirm fit and suitability before you order.

Helpful?

Smooth (polyester-coated) is the standard, cost-effective finish with a glossier look. Textured or leather-grain (plastic-coated) costs a little more but is more durable and scratch-resistant, with a matte finish.

Helpful?

Polyester coating is the standard, more affordable finish with a smooth, slightly glossy look. Plastic coating, also called leather-grain, is thicker and more durable, at a higher price. It is the same choice as smooth versus textured finish.

Helpful?

Corrugated and box profile sheets are commonly stocked in 2.4m, 3m and 3.6m lengths. Longer and custom lengths are available to order.

Helpful?

Take your roof's total width and divide by the sheet's cover width, then round up to the nearest whole sheet. For an exact count, use our free take-off service. Upload your drawings or a rough sketch with measurements and we'll confirm the full materials list.

Helpful?

Steel sheets are essentially non-combustible. Polyester-coated and plain galvanised finishes offer the highest fire ratings. Ask the sales team to confirm the exact classification for your chosen product.

Decking

Decking coverage calculator

Get a rough board count for your deck.

Based on a standard 3.6m × 146mm board with 10% wastage allowance. Fixings and joist spacing vary by product — the trade desk can confirm exact clip and subframe quantities for your chosen range.

Trex, Millboard, and Bison composite decking. All three are fully capped composites that won't rot, splinter or need staining. The difference mainly comes down to range size, credentials, finish and price point.

Helpful?

Yes. Timber subframes, joists, and brand-matched fixings and accessories are all available alongside the decking itself, so the whole build comes from one order.

Helpful?

Composite costs more upfront but needs no staining or sealing and won't rot or splinter. Timber is cheaper initially but needs a much higher level of maintenance.

Helpful?

Most decking ranges offer samples so you can check colour and finish in person before ordering. Ask the sales team and we'll get one sent out.

Helpful?

Fixings and Accessories

Box profile sheets should be fixed in the valley of the profile rather than on top of the rib.

Helpful?

We recommend three fasteners per purlin across the sheet and six fasteners at the end lap.

Helpful?

Yes. Lap mastic is applied before laying the next insulated panel sheet to create a weatherproof seal.

Helpful?

This depends on the profile, sheet length and purlin spacing. As a guide, most roofing sheets need a fixing at every second or third rib along each purlin. The sales team can confirm the right count for your job.

Helpful?

The flashings you need depend on the roof detail (ridge, verge, eaves or abutment). Send over your roof plan or call the sales team and we'll list out exactly what's needed.

Helpful?

Barge flashing covers the exposed edge of a roof at a gable end, protecting the sheet edges and timber from the weather.

Helpful?

Abutment flashing seals the join where a roof meets a vertical wall or structure, directing water away from that junction.

Helpful?

Foam fillers are recommended wherever a profiled sheet meets a flat surface or flashing, to close the gaps left by the sheet's ribs and keep the roof weathertight.

Helpful?

They sit under ridge caps, flashings and barge boards, filling the profile shape of the sheet so the flashing seats down cleanly.

Helpful?

Yes, a ridge cap is needed wherever two roof slopes meet at the top, to keep the join weathertight --- available to match your sheet colour.

Helpful?

Helpful?

Insulated Panels

We stock 30mm insulated sheets with a 0.5mm thick galvanised coated top sheet. They have a U-Value (W/m2K) of 0.58

Helpful?

An anti-condensation sheet has a fleece backing that absorbs moisture forming on the underside of the roof, reducing dripping inside the building.

Helpful?

It's recommended for unheated buildings such as barns, garages and stores, where condensation is more likely to form on the underside of the roof.

Helpful?

Fibre Cement Sheets

Yes. All fibre cement sheets we supply today are manufactured asbestos-free, using modern fibre reinforcement.

Helpful?

Yes, fibre cement is one of the most common like-for-like replacements for asbestos roofing, matching similar profiles and fixing patterns.

Helpful?

Profile 6 and Profile 7 refer to different corrugation patterns and cover widths. The right one usually depends on matching your existing roof or purlin spacing. The sales team can help confirm which you need.

Helpful?

Fibre cement sheets are available in a range of standard lengths. Check the product page for the full list, or ask us about cut-to-length options.

Helpful?

Fibre cement sheets need their own specific fixings, spaced and positioned to avoid cracking the sheet. We stock the fixing kits for each range.

Helpful?

Profile 6 fibre cement sheets can be installed on roofs with a minimum pitch of 5°.
