How to fix the composite cladding Edge Boards?

Edge Boards can be fixed with high grade structural adhesive sealant and colour head screws directly to the joist supports beneath.  We recommend screws to be spaced at a maximum of 400mm centres.

How should I cut the composite cladding Edge Boards?

You can cut wood plastic composite material using either a hand saw or circular saw.  We recommend using a specialist composite blade in circular saw to get the best cut and to get longevity from the blade itself.  When performing rip cuts down the length of a board, we advise using a guide to ensure accuracy.

Can I butt joint two lengths of Composite Edge Board?

For long runs of edge board (either vertically on double story buildings or on soffit or fascia details) you must leave a 5-6mm expansion gap between the two lengths of corner.  This will allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the material.

Are Bison Composite Batten Cladding Edge Boards scratch proof?

Whilst composite material is more robust and resistant to scratch and impact damage than traditional Cedral Batten Cladding or Siberian Larch Cladding, it is still possible to scratch the surface if mistreated. Care should be used when installing not to drag heavy and sharp items across the face of the composite materials.

Can I get samples of Bison Composite Batten Cladding products?

Yes, we have sample packs which include a piece of each colour board along with each of the trim accessories.  Please click here to order a sample.
