  • The profile 6 steel sheet is a 0.7mm thick galvanised sheet with a leathergrain plastic coated finish which is goosewing grey (BS 10A05) in colour. These are used to fit with the profile 6 fibre cement sheets we stock. These can be used for a new roof, they can be used to replace the odd sheet that may of got damaged in a profile 6 fibre cement roof and they can simply lay over the existing sheet to help seal it and with it being goosewing grey in colour it won't look out of place. With the sheet being lighter than the fibre cement counterpart it may be easier for you to use in certain situations and it still keeps it strength as it is a 0.7mm gauge.

You fix at the top of the corrugation on the sheets using a nail and spat washer, hookbolt or a self tapping screw with a seala washer and seala cap.

  • What is the minimum pitch required for these sheets?
We recommend you do not go any lower than 5°.

Southern Sheeting will not cut our stock sheets so you will have to organise a way to cut them yourself. We can order sheets in cut to length if needed, please contact our sales team to make an enquiry.

  • What can I use to cut the sheets?
The best tool to use to cut these sheets would be a nibbler, you can also use a circular saw if you have the suitable steel blade. Angle grinders are very common to use but you can risk causing rust on the cut edge due to the heat generated from the grinder. Make sure the cut end is tucked under the ridge flashing or overlapping sheet.

  • How much should I lap these sheets by?
For the corrugated sheets, you want to lap them by 1 and a half corrugations. If you are using multiple sheets down the run, the minimum end lap on these sheets is 150mm.

  • What do these sheets weigh?
These sheets weight 4.4kg per linear metre.

  • What care and maintenance is required for these sheets?
You should inspect your roof every year to make sure there is no build up of debris such and branches, leaves, nests etc. If there are any markings, regular cleaner and water should suffice.

  • Will this slot straight over or lap the Profile 6 fibre cement sheets?
Yes, these sheets can be used in conjunction with the profile 6 fibre cement sheets.

Customer Reviews

Fabulous Service when problem with our galvanised sheets

'Quite a while ago we bought enough galvanised steel sheeting to cover our garage roof.  Original transaction was just fine. 13 years on, the sheets that received most sun have started to flake and loose their paint, although the more shaded area is still pretty pristine. After so much time had elapsed I really wasn’t expecting Southern Sheeting to accept responsibility, but thought they might offer a discount on the replacements. But they were absolutely brilliant.  They investigated immediately and, within 2 days of my first contact, had offered to replace all the sheets originally purchased. Fabulous service.'
