Cedral Weatherboard Cladding

Cedral Weatherboard Cladding

Timber cladding looks superb for about three years. After that, it's sanding, staining, and patching the boards that have started to cup or rot at the bottom edge. Cedral gives you the same look without any of that, because it's fibre cement rather than wood.

Southern Sheeting supplies the full Cedral Weatherboard system: boards, trims, fixings, and accessories, so the job arrives complete rather than in pieces. Order online before 3pm, and it goes out for next-day nationwide delivery.

Built for Performance, Flexible on Design

Cedral does two things at once. It stands up to British weather without rotting, warping, or needing repainting every few years, and it gives you real choice over how the finished building looks.

What you get from the system:

  • Factory-applied colours across a wide range, in woodgrain or smooth finishes
  • Cedral Lap for a traditional overlapping weatherboard look
  • Cedral Click for a flush, contemporary face
  • Fibre cement construction that won't rot, warp or need regular repainting
  • A consistent finish that holds up in UK conditions
  • Boards designed to be straightforward to fix

That combination suits new builds and renovations equally. A period cottage happily takes the lap profile, while a modern extension looks right with the click system, and both come from the same range.

40+ Years Supporting Trade and Public Customers

Cladding is one of those jobs where a missing trim brings everything to a halt. The boards are up, the scaffold is booked, and you're waiting on a corner profile.

That's why we hold proper stock, deal directly with the manufacturer, and put you through to people who have specified this system many times rather than reading part codes off a screen.

Still family-run after four decades, we've earned repeat work from builders, roofers and homeowners by making the ordering side simple and getting the full list right first time.

Get the Whole System on One Order

Boards are the easy part. It's the corner trims, starter profiles, ventilation, fixings and matching accessories where orders usually come up short.

Send us the elevations or a rough sketch, and we'll work out the board quantity, the trims each corner and opening needs, and the correct fixings for what you're fixing into. We'll flag anything missing before it leaves us rather than after you've started.

Ring us on 01342 656408, send a message or use live chat, and you'll speak to someone who knows how the system works.

Still got questions? We've answered some of the most common ones below.

Cedral Cladding FAQs

What is Cedral made from?

Fibre cement. That's what allows it to hold the appearance of timber weatherboarding while avoiding the rot, warping, and repainting cycle that comes with real wood.

What's the difference between Cedral Lap and Cedral Click?

Lap boards overlap each other for a traditional weatherboard look with a visible shadow line. Click boards sit flush against one another for a flatter, more contemporary face. Same material, two very different finished appearances.

Do I have to paint it?

No. The colour is applied at the factory across the range, so the boards arrive finished. That's the main reason people move to Cedral from timber.

What colours and finishes can I get?

There's a wide selection of factory-applied colours, available in woodgrain or smooth finishes. Tell us the look you're after, and we'll confirm what's currently available.

Will it work on an older property?

It does, particularly the lap profile, which reads much like traditional weatherboarding. If the building is listed or in a conservation area, check what's permitted with your local authority before ordering.

Is Cedral difficult to install?

The boards are designed to be practical to fix, and the system includes the trims and accessories needed to finish edges and openings properly. If you're unsure about any stage, ask us and we'll talk it through.

What trims and accessories do I need?

Typically starter profiles, corner trims, profiles around windows and doors, ventilation components and the correct fixings. The exact list depends on the elevation, which is why it's worth sending us the details rather than guessing.

Can I use Cedral on a new build and a renovation?

Both. It's specified regularly on new build projects and used just as often to re-clad tired timber or render on existing houses and extensions.

How much maintenance does it need?

Very little. An occasional wash-down to keep it looking clean is generally the extent of it. There's no staining, sanding, or repainting to schedule.

Can you help me work out how many boards I need?

Yes. Send us your elevations or measurements, and we'll calculate the board quantity along with everything else the system needs, so you're not left short or heavily over-ordered.

Do you deliver Cedral nationwide?

We do. Order online before 3pm, and it goes out for next-day nationwide delivery. Free click and collect is available from our depots if you'd rather pick it up.

Can trade customers order larger quantities?

Yes. We supply builders and contractors with Cedral regularly, on jobs of every size. If you need bulk quantities or an ongoing supply, our team can arrange it.
