A Guide to Installing Bison Composite Cladding

Transcript

Bison Composite Batten Cladding is a timber-effect cladding board, giving the on-trend appearance of individual battens or slats.

When it comes to fitting the planks, this example we’re installing them vertically, but many of the same principles will apply to horizontal application.

At the beginning of your run, the plank needs to be cut to allow for a minimum of 25mm clearance from the ground with a maximum overhang of 50mm from your bottom support.

The first plank should be laid with the recessed lap edge facing in the direction that you’re cladding.

Tou’ll need to fix this to each joist with the 25mm colour head screw through the low valley of the cladding profile.

Next, predrill and secure the first plank with a second run oof fixings on the recessed end lap edge. Use plain screws as they will be covered by the next cladding board and won’t be visible.

Once the first board is secured, you can move on to the second. Simply push the lap joint together and repeat the predrill and fasten process but with just one run of fixings required on the recessed and lap end of the board.

When you come to your last board, you may need to cut the width of your cladding to fit. If so, fasten the last board with a run of 25mm colour head screws as you did with the first board through the valley of the profile.
