Cedral Weatherboard Cladding

Cedral Cladding Colours

Colour is where most Cedral projects get decided. The board does the same job whichever shade you pick, so the choice comes down to how you want the building to read against its surroundings.

Southern Sheeting is one of the South East's largest stockists of Cedral Weatherboard, trims and accessories. We hold the full Cedral Lap colour range, the ten most popular Cedral Click colours, and three Click Smooth colours: C01, C05 and C18.

Not seeing the colour you want? Get in touch. We can often bring in other colours in full pallet quantities of 144 boards.

What We Stock

Cedral Lap in the complete colour range. The square edge board that gives you the traditional overlapping weatherboard look with a defined shadow line.

Cedral Click in the ten most popular colours. Tongue and groove boards that sit flush for a flat, contemporary face, and can be fitted horizontally or vertically.

Cedral Click Smooth in C01, C05 and C18. Same click system, smooth finish rather than woodgrain.

If your specification calls for something outside that, ask us. Full pallet orders open up the rest of the range.

Lap or Click

Same material, same performance, two very different finished appearances.

Cedral Lap

  • Square-edge fibre cement cladding board
  • Overlapping installation with a visible shadow line
  • Full colour range stocked
  • No repainting needed
  • A2-s1, d0 fire rating with a 50-year life expectancy
  • Straightforward to install

Cedral Click

  • Tongue and groove fibre cement cladding board
  • Flush finish for a contemporary look
  • Ten woodgrain colours and three smooth
  • Fits horizontally or vertically
  • A2-s1, d0 fire rating with a 50-year life expectancy

Traditional properties tend to suit Lap. Modern extensions, garden rooms and new builds more often go for Click. Plenty of projects use both on different elevations.

Trims, Including Bespoke

Boards are the straightforward part. Trims are where orders come up short.

We stock the standard trim range, including End Profile 65, and we manufacture bespoke trims for Cedral cladding where a detail needs something the standard range doesn't cover. Bay Window Profiles are made to order rather than stocked.

If you've got bay windows, an unusual corner or a detail that standard profiles won't resolve, send it over, and we'll tell you what we can make.

See It Before You Commit

Colour on a screen is not colour on a wall. Light, orientation and surrounding materials all shift how a finish reads.

Request a sample and look at it against the actual building, in daylight, at the time of day the elevation gets most sun. It takes a few days and saves regret on a full house of cladding.

One thing worth knowing: some existing colours have kept their codes but had their names adjusted slightly under the current range. If you're matching to an existing installation, quote the code rather than the name.

40+ Years Supporting Trade and Public Customers

Cladding stops the moment a trim is missing. Boards up, scaffold booked, waiting on a corner profile that should have been on the original order.

We're an official Cedral distributor; we hold real depth across the range, and we put you through to people who have specified this system on hundreds of elevations.

Family-run for over forty years, the reason builders and homeowners keep coming back is that the full list leaves the yard together.

Send Us the Elevations

Board quantities are simple arithmetic. Trims are not, and they're what gets forgotten.

Send drawings or a sketch with rough measurements and we'll work out board quantities per elevation, the trims each corner and opening needs, ventilation components and the correct fixings. We'll flag anything missing before it ships rather than after you've started.

Cedral Cladding Colour FAQs

How many colours does Cedral come in?

The Lap range is the broadest, and we stock it in full. Click is available in ten woodgrain colours and three smooth colours. Which colours are stocked versus available to order is worth checking with us before you specify, since it affects lead time considerably.

What if the colour I want isn't stocked?

We can often bring it in, but it needs to be a full pallet, which is 144 boards. That works fine on a decent-sized project and less well on a small one. Ring us with the colour code and the quantity you need, and we'll tell you what's realistic.

Is the colour painted on site?

No, and that's the whole point of it. The finish is applied at the factory across the range, so the boards arrive finished and stay that way. No painting when they go up, no repainting in five years.

Will the colour fade?

Fibre cement holds its colour far better than painted timber, which is one of the main reasons people switch. Some gradual mellowing over decades is normal for any external finish, but you're not looking at the repaint cycle timber demands.

What's the difference between woodgrain and smooth?

Texture, not colour. Woodgrain has a subtle grain pattern pressed into the surface that reads more like timber from a distance. Smooth is flat and reads as a contemporary panel. Click Smooth is stocked in C01, C05 and C18.

I'm matching an existing installation. What do I need?

The colour code, not the name. Some colours have kept the same code while having their name slightly altered under the current range, so codes are the reliable reference. If you can find an offcut or an original delivery note, that's your best starting point.

Can I use two different colours on one building?

Regularly done. Different colours on different elevations, or a contrasting colour on a gable or a single-storey extension, works well and is a common way to break up a large facade. Just make sure the trims are ordered in the right colours to match each area.

How do I choose between Lap and Click?

Look at the building and its neighbours. Lap's overlapping profile and shadow line suit traditional and rural properties, and read much like painted weatherboard. Click's flush face suits contemporary architecture and modern extensions. Click also gives you the option of running boards vertically, which Lap doesn't.

Can I get a physical sample?

Yes, and we'd push you to. Request one through the Cedral colour selector, then hold it against the building in daylight rather than judging from a photograph. Colours shift noticeably depending on orientation and what's around them.

What is End Profile 65 and do I need it?

It's a trim we stock for finishing board ends neatly. Whether your job needs it depends on the detailing at edges and openings. Send us the elevations, and we'll tell you which trims the design actually requires.

Can you make trims for bay windows?

We can. Bay Window Profiles are made to order rather than held in stock, and we manufacture bespoke trims for details that the standard range doesn't cover. Send us the detail with measurements, and we'll quote it.

What fire rating does Cedral carry?

A2-s1, d0 across both Lap and Click. If you're working to a specification with fire performance requirements, particularly on a taller building, confirm the requirement with your designer, and we'll check it against the current technical documentation.

How long will it last?

Both Lap and Click carry a 50-year life expectancy. Maintenance amounts to an occasional washdown. No sanding, no staining, no repainting.
